Summary

• Signaler couverte de données à partir 2008.

• Enormous effort has clearly been made to improve the quality of the 2008 report from the first report covering 2004.
• Payments to the social fund are reconciled, which is useful, although no detail on the use of these funds is provided. It is also important to note that this fund is not extractive industry specific.
• In an effort to improve data reliability, the completed EITI templates were sent directly to the EITI secretariat and government data was provided by the statistics agency rather than by the individual government agencies.
• The report does not provide a materiality clause.
• Because the one petroleum company selected by the EITI committee did not report, the report covers only the mining sector.
• Errors and inconsistencies in currency and unit of measure create confusion. The report also adds confusion by including non-EI revenue flow data.
